Painter Kristīne Kutepova’s joint work with Lāsma in the project "Creation of the World"

CREATION OF THE WORLD is an art project that unites 12 well-known Latvian artists - painters in synergy with the young people of the association, creating the world on canvas together.

The purpose of the project is to collect donations for the creation of a group home, as well as to emphasize that people with severe developmental disabilities are able to contribute to society and are a part of it.

All donations received are 100% donated to the association "Latvijas Kustība par neatkarīgu dzīvi" (Latvian Movement for Independent Life) for the dream of a group home.

Lāsma is 20 years old. Lāsma has complex developmental disorders and she needs professional support on a daily basis, both in making decisions and in assisting other activities. Lāsma's parents dream of a home where Lāsma will receive the necessary support when they are no longer in this world.

“This is really a collaboration between me and Lāsma, more of an expression of Lāsma's wonderful soul. The only big work in this synergy is the horizon I set, everything else is the merit of Lāsma. I started a creative process and it was really important for me that Lāsma not only gets involved, but also gives herself to this process, enjoys it. We had a good time and created something completely abstract, I didn't even want to interfere with this work afterwards. Lāsma is a very special young woman and I have a huge desire to be a part of this project, worrying about where Lāsma will end up when her parents are gone. One step closer to creating a group home,” says the painter.
